Everything about a radio show must be suited to be as popular as possible with a certain target audience otherwise it will never have a focused target and will inevitably fail. Next comes the specificity of the audience. Broadcasting a show that is directed at only one gender, a small age range, one certain religion etc. is simply narrowing the show's chances of becoming successful on a large scale. Aiming to make the show suitable for everyone is not only impossible, but will almost certainly be dismissed by people who like a more intimate broadcast where they as an individual feel catered for.
To ensure that I produce a radio show that has as much chance of being successful as possible, I constructed a questionnaire that I then handed to 100 people in a mixture of friends, family and strangers that I stopped in the street on one afternoon. I have displayed the questionnaire below:
